Catch Report week ending 30/4/18 Jake Mason really got amongst them this week. He managed to land 7 fish over a 3 night period which consisted of 2 high doubles, 4 upper 20’s and a stunning 38lb 14oz mirror! His tactics were to stay active, chucking pva bags of pellet with a pink salty squid wafter to showing fish. Ian Townshend continued his run of success, this time having 3 mirrors to 30lb 4oz. He fished tight to some overhanging trees where he presented a matrix wafter just to one side of his baited area. Warren Beet bagged himself a 34lb 4oz mirror. A Complex T snowman presentation over a decent scattering of bottom baits doing the job. Andy Barton got in on the action nailing 4 fish, the largest of which just ounces under 30. He used sticky Pineapple wafters flicked short to a tree line on his left. Dean Welsh’s persistence finally paid off in the shape of a 30lb 4oz mirror. He used a stiff hinge accompanied with a 12mm berry tang pop up from north east baits to tempt his new PB. The guys from Serious Carp Socials joined us over the weekend on a lake exclusive. Conditions took a turn for the worst but the guys didn’t let that get them down. With a couple of new PB’s and an impressive BBQ everyone thoroughly seemed to enjoy themselves. Richard Monger was one of the lads to hit a PB with an awesome 39lb 12oz mirror. He fished at 24 wraps to a central area and presented a little pink pop up over a kilo of Cheshire particle. Darren Emery had a brace of mirrors to 32lb. The first fish came quickly, falling to a 10ft zig, and the 30+ off the deck on a yellow pop up with a pva bag. Can everyone also please remember to send your pictures over so we can include them in the catch report.
