2 lovely pics taken by Jake Mason this week.

Catch report W/E 4/9/17 Danas Rapalavicius opened his Cromwell account in style after netting a brace of cracking 30+ mirrors. The first of which 31lb 10oz and the second 33lb 8oz. He decided to present chod rigs over light weed accompanied with a 14mm Hi Viz cell pop up and also gave them a nice scattering of cell bottom baits over the top. Mike Waters had a frustrating session but after a change of tactics was rewarded with a trio of stunning mirrors on his final morning, they weighed 26lb 8oz, 28lb 6oz and a 31lb on the button. He cast small white wafters with bags of pellet to showing fish at distance. Danny Speight will be glad to hear he is now the new Cromwell Lake catfish record holder! The giant tipped the scales at a belting 69lb 6oz! He caught it on a small Hi Viz wafter over a generous amount of mixed freebies. It certainly took him by surprise and apparently led him a right merry dance but was very happy of seen it grace his net. Jake Mason doing it once again this time landing five carp which included four twenties to 29 and a awesome 30lb mirror. He also got a shock when he landed catfish of his own this one weighing 49lb 12oz. The same combination of pva bags of pellet and small pink wafters doing the business for him. Simon Plant had the fifth 30+ carp of the week followed by a nice upper double common. He fished tight to some overhanging trees and opted to use a small pop up to combat any light debris that may have been on the bottom, he also walked up the margin often to top up his spots with bait. Anthony Heaton managed to get off the mark landing a 27lb mirror. He used a mixture of boilie and corn over a clear area which he’d spotted when patrolling the margins. His good friend Ste Mundy also managed to get off the mark funnily enough with another 27lb mirror. He fished to a central area over a light bed of bait with a Hi Viz wafter being his choice of hookbait. Liam Kelly had himself two mid twenty mirror in quick succession when casting solid bags to showing fish. Jordan James bagged himself a 28lb 4oz mirror also using solid bag tactics over light weed. Quite a few other fish came out over the course of the week to 24lb. A big well done to everyone that managed to get in amongst them!

Catch Report weekending 11/9/17 Changeable conditions here this week has made the fishing a little unpredictable. That being said, we have still had some stunning fish out, with signs the fish are now starting to pack the weight on. Ewan Robert’s first time at the lake and his first evening resulted in a lovely 30lb mirror, he used a 12mm yellow Fluro pop up over a spodded area of corn, hemp and chopped and whole Krill boilie. Grahame Stevenson is being rewarded for the time spent on the lake and is now starting to consistently get amongst the fish, he fished over a decent bed of bait, was feeding his swim on a little and often basis. He went on to land an absolute unit of a mirror at 41lb 8oz using a Pineapple wafter. Jay Baldock was more than pleased with his session, fishing snowman rigs using Cell+IB pop ups over a generous amount of freebies, which consisted of pellet, corn and boilie. Jay introduced his loose feed little and often which then resulted in a new PB when he slipped the net under a beautiful 36lb mirror and also 2 upper doubles. Jason Kershaw is currently 24 hours into his session and has had a cracking start landing 4 fish to 33lb 8oz which is his new PB, he is fishing to a hole in the tree line using GS4 Liver pop up he is lightly baiting the area, topping it up after every fish, which is working well for him. Arkadiusz Grabowski, fishing on peg 2, managed to bagged a 32lb mirror on his session, fishing over light weed and scattering a bed of Cell boilies at 40 yards using chods proving successful for him. Nathan Rooke had himself a 27lb mirror fishing to a clear spot at 60 yards using Manilla bottom baits. Consistent angler Liam Kelly paid us another visit. Fishing just a 24 hour session this time, Liam still managed to get amongst them landing 3 commons upto 26lb 8oz and unfortunately loosing one at the net! Liam employed the tactic of casting at showing fish with small soild PVA bags of just ground Manilla boilies and 12mm white Manilla pop up. Ricky Bradbury has also had a great start to his session opening his Cromwell account with a 23lb 8oz mirror. Fishing at 90 yards, Ricky managed to tempt the fish using solid bags of pellet, ground Manilla boilie with a Manilla bottom bait being his hookbait of choice. So despite the changeable conditions, its still been a productive week with plenty of other fish coming out to upper doubles over the course of the week.

Catch Report weekending 18/9/17 Challenging week for the guys with conditions changing quite dramatically. The nights are getting longer and the mornings considerably cooler, the carp are soon to detect the drop in water temperature and realize its time to feed up ready for the colder months ahead. Jason Hammond did real well to nick a couple of bites and bagged himself a lovely 32lb 2oz mirror along with an upper double common. He fished out to a central area at 24 wraps where he presented d-rigs accompanied with mainline cell. Adam Elmore had a great result landing five carp which consisted of 4 upper doubles and a 26lb mirror. He had them from various spots, but all his fish came to a stiff hinge and a generous amount of cell freebies. Geoff Smith decided to jump into a corner swim with a tempting looking treeline which was bound to hold a carp or two. He fished tight to some over hanging trees and was rewarded with a brace of commons the largest of the two going 25lb. He used 15mm P.P.M hookbaits and loose fed particle and boilie crumb over the top. Blaine Burgess had the one bite which seen a nice 28lb 2oz mirror grace the net. He fished to a choddy area at 22 wraps and presented a stiff hinge over the top with some cell freebies. Jason Kershaw was 24 hours into his session when the last catch report was posted and was on four fish to 33lb 8oz. He went on to catch two more to add top the tally, a cracking 26lb 10oz mirror being the largest of the two. He persisted with the same tactics using GS4 liver pop ups over a marginal spot which he would top up after each bite. Ricky Bradbury was also mid session last catch report and ended up netting himself another mirror this time slightly bigger at 24lb 6oz. Same tactics again using solid bags over a decent bed of bait. Mike Green and Glen Johnson were on the Cromwell pool which was proving difficult but were very happy to save a blank on there final morning with a brace of 17lb mirrors. Multi rigs and 10mm pineapple pop ups doing the business. Still waiting for on quite a few pics so please everyone remember to send them over so we can get them up throughout the week.
