Copied this idea from Nathan at Sapphire Lakes !! What a great idea to put breakfast benches in the peg so the customer can eat his meals outside ( weather permitting ). Really pleased with them just need painting now 😀 ... See MoreSee Less

Well after 15 years it’s time to tell me and Nathan’s story . We put a deposit down on this lake then Mark my husband (Nathan’s dad ) decided to take some garage stuff down in the snow of 2010, we had offloaded his stuff but he got stuck in the snow , after trying to dig himself out , he had breathing problems , we stayed maybe 3 hours here hoping he would feel better , he didn’t want to go to hospital here . So Nathan and my dad drove down to pick us up and take us to pontefract hospital ( which was closing down). We got him there and it was either a blood clot to the lung or pneumonia. The consultant decided it was pneumonia, to cut a very long story short he died a week after from a Pulmonary thrombo embolism at 47. So we came here two weeks after , Nathan was 20, I’d never paid even a household bill before . So we started a new life and business , it was the biggest learning curve ever , and we spent a fortune trying to invent a new kind of venue with customer service . I’m so very proud of what we achieved, Nathan’s dream . So there you go when you wonder why we close over Christmas it’s because it’s dates his dad , died , his dad’s birthday and other anniversaries! In my eyes Nathan had an idea of a fishery from the anglers point of view( what did they need/want) not a money orientated business. We were the first fishery in the country that had customer service ! Still glad to offer this 😀 ... See MoreSee Less
